Talk therapy is often the starting point—but for many people, it’s just the beginning. Real change often happens when we go beyond words, tapping into creativity, imagination, and the deeper parts of ourselves that language alone can’t always reach.
My background in expressive art therapy shapes the way I see and understand what unfolds in session. Even when we’re simply talking, I bring in a creative lens—using imagery, metaphor, and story to help make sense of what feels stuck or unclear. This doesn’t mean we’ll be painting or sculpting (unless you want to!); it’s more about exploring ideas and emotions in ways that open new doors, not just new sentences.
People often think expressive art therapy is just for kids or teens, but adults can benefit deeply from it too. Creativity helps us loosen rigid patterns, find fresh perspective, and approach problems with more curiosity and playfulness. Sometimes the most healing moments come when we allow ourselves to experiment, imagine, or even laugh in the middle of something hard.
Expressive art therapy also includes body movement, which can be a powerful way to connect with and release what words can’t reach. Our bodies hold memories, tension, and emotional patterns—sometimes long after the mind has moved on. Gentle movement, stretching, or simply tuning into physical sensations can help unlock what’s been stored and create space for new awareness and self-compassion. This is deeply affirming work: a reminder that our bodies aren’t the problem—they’re part of the healing. Our bodies are wise, resilient, and truly amazing in their capacity to help us feel and move toward wholeness.
I also incorporate tarot and oracle cards as another creative and reflective tool in therapy. These cards aren’t about predicting the future—they’re about seeing things from a new angle. When we look at imagery outside of ourselves, something inside often stirs. The symbols, colors, and stories on the cards can reflect emotions or truths we haven’t quite found words for yet. This process often helps people see themselves with more compassion, curiosity, and insight.
Whether through creative reflection, intuitive tools, movement, or meaningful conversation, my goal is to help you reconnect with your own inner wisdom—and the possibilities that live beyond what words can describe.
