What is Psychotherapy?

When you decide to embark on this journey with me, you can anticipate a supportive and empathetic approach. Our therapy sessions will typically unfold like this:
We’ll begin with an assessment and goal-setting conversation. During this initial phase, we’ll discuss your concerns, your goals, and what you hope to achieve through therapy. This helps us tailor our sessions to your specific needs and aspirations.
As we delve into our sessions, we’ll explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. This process allows you to gain insights into the patterns that may be influencing your life and holding you back from your full potential.
Throughout our time together, I’ll provide you with the space to connect to yourself while also sharing practical tools and techniques. These will help you manage stress, cope with difficult emotions, and improve your relationships, providing you with the skills needed to navigate life’s challenges more effectively.
In our sessions, you’ll find a safe and non-judgmental space to express yourself openly. I’m here to listen, validate your experiences, challenge you and of course offer support as we work together to address your challenges.
As we progress through therapy, we’ll regularly evaluate your goals and measure your progress. This ongoing reflection allows us to adapt our approach as needed, ensuring that you are receiving the most effective support.
In addition to individual, couple’s and family therapy I co-lead a few process oriented therapy groups. Many of my patients find group therapy to be beneficial to their growth and wellbeing as they can gain understanding, knowledge and support from others in group with them. Group therapy is not cost beneficial, it can also shorten the length of time needed in therapy.
